Pynk
Recently, my high school blogmate Simon blogged about his new laptop he bought at the PC Fair a few months back. Owh, before i start, let me restate my position. I'm not a sexist nor someone who despises people who do not conform to the social norms. This is just a post to show Simon so that Simon can understand why i say his laptop is PINK and not RED. (At least assuming that picture of the laptop he took which he posted belongs to him and not someone else XDD)
When you buy the Dell Inspiron Laptop series, you would have 8 choices of colours to choose from. You can either choose BLACK, BLUE, PINK, RED, GREEN, BROWN, YELLOW and WHITE.
I was wondering did i see the wrong colour or something went wrong with the colour cones in my eyes which is suppose to work perfectly fine. But then, i think i really didn't see wrong leh.

This is the PINK laptop, looks like Simon's laptop, seems like his laptop, sounds like his laptop but definitely not his :P
And then, this is to compare between all those colours properly if you still can't differentiate

And TADAH, this looks more like a RED laptop to me, oh well at least me
I think now by his standard, he would understand. Now to the gay part. Why is pink gay?
According to Wikipedia, Gay is
Gay is an adjective that usually refers to homosexuality in contemporary colloquial usage.
or it could be
a cheerful or happy mood
or again the more appropriate would be
slang for "unhip" or "lame"
Therefore when i say Simon is gay for buying a pink laptop, What does it actually mean? If you're a snob who only understands one meaning of gay, it would mean Simon is homosexual for buying a pink laptop. Then again, if you understand the basic meaning of gay, you would interpret it as Simon is happy for buying a pink laptop. If you're someone like Ben, he would interpret it straight away as Simon is lame and uncool for buying a pink laptop. It all depends on actually how you choose to interpret it. Haha XD
The stereotype on how come society interpret PINK as GAY for HOMO is something which i cannot figure out yet. Something as complex as this is not for me to think and understand as i have better things to understand like what is nominal GDP and IDP which is implicit deficit something. Owh ya, just to inform you guys, I'm having my finals next week which means i got to study study and study this week. DIE!
Back to the topic, in fact pink has become a colour for the female so much so that even the breast cancer awareness choose pink for their ribbon colour because it is strongly associated with feminity.
Still the most funny thing which i've read concerning would be this :
In Japan the color Cherry Blossom Pink is associated with a woman's vagina, and therefore, in Japan, softcore pornographic films are called pink movies.
Maybe thats why pink is always for girls hor Simon ??
