Road Tax Blues
Before a car is allowed to be driven around the roads of the world, a road tax is needed. In Malaysia, the road tax is sticked on the windscreen of the car. However, due to the smart works of the JPJ of Malaysia who introduced good but impractical safety feature to the road tax sticker.
Now as teenagers, u probably haven't noticed this yet as you don't change the road tax for your parents cars. If you have noticed, you probably wondered how come some people never peel off their expired road tax sticker off their windscreen. Let me tell you, thats because of one straight forward answer - the road tax sticker is DAMN DAMN DAMN hard to peel off. When this matter was brought to light by car users, JPJ just replied with their usual babi-ness and said this is a safety feature to prevent people from making forged road tax. As a person who does the peeling of the road tax sticker for his parents, i damn don't agree with this. There are many ways a road tax can be prevented from forgery. At least, please for God's sake don't make the road tax that thin.
In turn this provided some ridiculous products on the market. I was walking in a super market recently and saw a product called ROAD TAX REMOVER. I was like WTF!! when i saw it. I was wondering why on earth do we need a product called a ROAD TAX REMOVER to help us remove road tax from our windscreens. How depressing is that. And so i told myself, I am NEVER EVER gonna buy that product. Therefore, i offered to help my mom take off her old road tax on her windscreen. After a few trials and error, i came out witht the best way of removing the road tax.
Here goes some of the ways :-
Use Paint Thinner
Spirits of oil lamps will do either
Cutter blades does surprisingly well too
And so i removed a stupid road tax from my mom's car using a blade because i couldn't find any organic solvent.
Starting of the removing of the road tax
Start by removing the sides of the road tax
Then remove the bottom
After a few minutes of scraping, here you go - A clean windscreen once again
And so here goes the D.I.Y way of removing the road tax. Don't ever spend a penny on the so called ROAD TAX REMOVER. Its not worth it when you can do it yourself. Too bad i dont have a picture of it now. I bet those people who produce it has a connection with these JPJ asses.
