Fluffy

How to make Fluffy Cotton balls

Before going to East Malaysia on tuesday, we needed to make some souveniors for the saints there. Therefore, we decided to make a super cute cotton ball. I shall call it fluffy as i cannot think of any other name other than fluffy. Any ideas for names??

So, to start making your first fluffy, u have to get the moulds. You can get it at the Macy's or some other shops like which sells fabrics and cottons and etc....

The moulds come in different sizes. Cute aren't they?
After this, get some wool and well you can choose your favourite colour.

Wools of different colours

Then, proceed to roll the cotton around the mould like in the picture. Roll till you think its thick enough but not too thick though.

Coil your wool around it

After coiling your wool around it, you got to join the two moulds together. There will be clips at the edges of the mould and you would nust need to join it together.

Join the mould together

After joining the mould together, you can begin to cut the cotton which is coiled around the mould in the center like this.

Cut through the middle part like this.

When you're done with cutting, you'll need to tie the middle part of it with another string or wool of your choice through the middle again. Make sure you tie it tightly so that it doesnt fall out when the mould is removed. Remove the cast after you tie the middle part.

The fluffy with the cast or mould still around it

Remove the cast gently

After some removing the cast and here your fluffy is done!

Tadah!!!!!!

Before you'll get a round fluffy, take note that you'll need to trim the sides a bit so that thoose loose ends won't affect the shape of your fluffy.

Naturally, i'd like to experiment with things and i decided to add some "features" to the fluffy i make.

Some eyes to make it alive

An indian with blue hair and a chinese with black hair. Where's the malay?? No idea....

I still like the first solid blue fluffy i made in the first place

And there you go, How to make your very own Fluffy. Don't ask me where the Malays was. I have no idea. Im a racist. No lah, just couldnt get the right colour. By the way, I still feel the making solid coloured fluffy's turn out the best. Oh ya, you could try coiling two colours of wool together for a "fireworks" feel on the fluffy.
